Motorcycle Insurance
Dryden-Kamis Insurance Agency would like to talk to you about getting motorcycle insurance in Illinois. It is a State law that liability insurance is mandatory for all motor vehicles that are being driven and need to display a license plate. This includes motorcycles as well as all cars, trucks, buses, vans, and recreational vehicles. You will be in compliance with Illinois' or Indiana’s strict mandatory insurance law if you have insurance for the following minimum amounts:
- A $25,000 policy will cover one person in an accident's injury or death
- A $50,000 policy will cover the injury or death of more than one person in an accident
- A $25,000 (IL) or $10,000 (IN) policy will cover you against damage to another person’s property
A valid ID card must be carried by the operator or kept with the motorcycle or scooter at all times.
It is recommended that you also purchase coverage for underinsured or uninsured motorists and medical payments. This coverage will protect you when an at-fault, uninsured driver, injures you, and also provides coverage for property damage. Coverage can also be bought for damages to your motorcycle, including the full cost of replacing your motorcycle, and accessories coverage. We suggest that all riders take an approved motorcycle safety course, maintain a clean driving record, and keep your coverage up-to-date. Motorcycle safety courses will cover street strategies, basic riding skills, advanced braking and turning techniques, turning, shifting, straight line riding, and stopping.
